Neighbors--who at first blush perceive each other with distrust
Only to find out when wildfire approaches that they must
Mutually assist themselves in extinguishing the blaze--
Are thereafter bonded as friends for the rest of their days.
Now we see ISIL march to Baghdad with hostile intent:-
If Iran and Iraq unite to halt ISIL's portent,
Sunni and Shiite may have finally found common cause
And haply their long-standing feud may soon come to a close....
Now let us survey Mother Earth's status in our cosmos:-
In our Milky Way galaxy there are countless planets;
Scientists surmise ETs could be like little hornets,
Like bacteria or viruses unseen by naked eyes,
A pox or curse so that every first-born human child dies;
No nation in this small planet of ours can stand alone.
Death to all mankind, if we can't unite and fight as one!
