Did God direct meteors and comets to impact on Earth,
Re-seeding it with creatures having transient lives--like man?
On the other hand, if God be the Tree, then His fruit can--
Pursuant to His Plan, in due course evolve and give birth,
Perhaps to a less savage and more durable being;
In fine, to homo superior, god-like, and immortal.
No harm future meteor swarms or comets falling can bring;
Grave disasters to the pure of heart will not be fatal,
Since souls unblemished are rewarded with Life Eternal.
