CHILDHOOD

Carefree childhood days, myself I remember well;
Howling, shrieking, laughing, weeping, while teachers yell...
Infancy thru college, then it was time to work;
Life as family man with tasks I could not shirk.
Dreams of Camelot and castles have flown, all gone...
Here in bed immobilized by gout, am I done?
'Oh, No! You have not reached the end of your sojourn.
'Octogenarians like you have much more to learn;
'Do learn anew, dear child, at My Ethereal Bourne.'
